On April 6, 2012, Rob joined a panel of experts on NPR affiliate WEAA (88.9 FM, Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD) for an hour-long discussion about preserving the sanctity of marriage and relationships when a spouse or partner is diagnosed with a life-threatening disease. Many times, when someone is diagnosed with cancer, a spouse, family member, or friend will act as a caregiver to help with the patient’s needs. But sometimes caregivers become so engrossed in looking after their loved ones, they forget to take care of themselves. Rob Harris, who’s based in Orlando, says that’s what happened to him as he cared for his wife, Cindy, during her two separate battles with cancer.
